EFF is excited to join the Knight First Amendment Institute at Columbia University's symposium “Regardless of Frontiers: The First Amendment and the Exchange of Ideas Across Borders” from October 17-18. An opening reception will be held on October 17 from 6-8 pm at Riverside Church in New York. The reception will feature a photo exhibition entitled “Infrastructures of Control,” by Colter Thomas and Dugan Meyer and a 10-foot map of the border created by EFF. Through a series of photographs, the exhibit aims to create a visual archive of security and surveillance infrastructure in the U.S.-Mexico borderlands. Senior Staff Attorney Saira Hussain will present EFF's work on mapping surveillance towers in the border region, which helped guide Thomas and Meyer in bringing together their photo exhibition.
