Electronic Frontier Alliance (EFA) Videoconferences are an opportunity for local grassroots groups to share their work, offer mutual support, and participate in exclusive talks and workshops on digital rights issues.
These events are only open to EFA member groups, but membership is open to applications for qualifying groups.
EFA Video Conference: Intro to FOIA requests
Law enforcement uses cell-site simulators (aka IMSI Catchers or Stignrays) to track cellphone locations, and sometimes may even intercept communications. What's even more concerning is how little transparency there is over the use and capabilities of these tools, which lead to EFF's development of RayHunter—an accessible way for anyone to start tracking CSS usage in their neighborhood. This call we'll be joined by EFF Staff Technologists Cooper Quintin and Will Greenberg to dive into some of the technical details behind the project and walk EFA groups through the steps needed to start hunting.
