July 24, 2025 - 4:00pm PDT
Phoenix, AZ
Tech Education Collaborative, a local organization in the Electronic Frontier Alliance, (not EFF) will host this event:

We're excited to welcome Andrew Crocker, Surveillance Litigation Director for the EFF, as this month's EFA Edition of Privacy PIE!  As Surveillance Litigation Director, Andrew Crocker leads EFF's legal work on issues at the intersection of technology and privacy through lawsuits and amicus briefs in state and federal courts, including the U.S. Supreme Court. Representative cases include challenging the constitutionality of national security letters (NSLs); working to establish that the Fifth Amendment privilege against self-incrimination protects against the compelled decryption of electronic devices; and limiting overbroad anti-hacking laws such as the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act (CFAA).  Andrew will discuss what it means to turn a passion for privacy into a career, what he loves about it, what he's currently working on, his most challenging cases, and answer any questions you may have.

Enjoy the company of the usual Privacy PIE crew, food and a "watch party" vibe. This will be a hybrid event and Andrew Crocker will be speaking remotely.
