EFF's Associate Director of EU Policy, Svea Windwehr, will speak at the "Media Matters" conference in Berlin. The conference, hosted by Heinrich Böll Foundation, focuses the intersection of democratic discourses, journalism and technology. Svea Windwehr will speak on a panel focused on the Digital Services Act (DSA), the European Union's recently adopted hallmark law that governs online platforms. The panel will explore whether and how the DSA can help resolve the power asymmetry between platforms and their users, and how the rights-based enforcement of the DSA can contribute to the protection of fundamental rights online.
