Tech users are plagued by private companies who harvest, exploit, and sell your personal info—often without meaningful consent or consequences. So how is this legal and what can we do to stop it.

At this year’s Global Members’ Speakeasy, we’re partnering with Women in Security and Privacy (WISP) and addressing the role that online behavioral tracking and the massive data broker industry play in internet security and your privacy (or lack thereof!), and how people around the world are fighting back.

We're welcoming EFF Associate Director of Community Organizing Rory Mir, Cybersecurity Researcher Yael Grauer, EFF Staff Technologist Lena Cohen, and EFF IP Litigation Director Mitch Stoltz for this discussion focusing on corporate surveillance and what you can do about it. Livestream discussion with Q&A to follow.

WHERE you might ask? Current EFF members should be on the lookout for an email invitation to the event with full details by September 15. If you didn't get your invitation, write to us at events@eff.org. At least twice each year, we invite current EFF members to gather with fellow internet freedom supporters and to meet the people behind your favorite digital civil liberties organization. Not a member of EFF yet? Help build a better future for privacy, innovation, and free expression when you join today! This gathering is open to members and their guests.
