Electronic Frontier Alliance (EFA) Videoconferences are an opportunity for local grassroots groups to share their work, offer mutual support, and participate in exclusive talks and workshops on digital rights issues.

These events are only open to EFA member groups, but membership is open to applications for qualifying groups.

EFA Video Conference: Intro to FOIA requests

Freedom of Information Act requests allow the public to reveal records from government agencies—a vital tool of government transparency and accountability for advocates. In this workshop EFF's Senior Investigative Researcher Beryl Lipton will go over how these requests work, how to address common roadblocks, and what to do once you get the requested records. We'll then take the time to file requests together and walk attendees through the process. This is a great introduction for the FOIA-curious, but seasoned researchers are also welcome to join and share their experiences and advice.
