The 2021 Computers, Privacy and Data Protection conference (CPDP) will be held in Brussels from 27-29 January. On Wednesday, January 28, Christoph Schmon, EFF’s International Policy Director, will host a panel on “User Choice and Freedom Through Portability and Interoperability Rights?”.

The aim of the panel, which will start at 11.45 CET, is to focus on portability and interoperability rights in a changing world. Presenting perspectives from academia, enforcement, policy and start-ups, the panelists will explore the gaps in legislation and give insights in what is needed for a free internet.

The CPDP gathers academics, lawyers, policymakers, and civil society from all over the world, offering them an arena to exchange ideas and discuss the latest emerging issues and trends. This unique multidisciplinary format has served to make CPDP one of the leading data protection and privacy conferences in Europe and around the world.
