EFF and the ACLU filed an amicus brief in U.S. Telecom Association v. FCC, a lawsuit by telecommunications providers challenging the government's net neutrality rules, which will, among other things, prevent Internet service providers from interfering and censoring content on the Web.
Our brief defends the part of the FCC's order that sets forth appropriately-tailored rules to protect the Internet’s open and robust "marketplace of ideas" without placing excessive or inappropriate restrictions on telecommunications providers or regulating their original content. Along with our legal arguments, we submitted a statement signed by dozens of engineers familiar with Internet infrastructure urging the court to approve the net neutrality rules. This page will be updated with developments in the case.
